Hello and welcome.
Welcome to the first global certification scheme for chefs and culinary educators around the world, launched by WACS.
It has been a lifelong ambition for us to give something back to the culinary community and help cooks and chefs to get recognition for the skills and experience they have gained while working in the industry, regardless of the level they are operating at.
The WACS certification scheme is about recognising industry experience. It is not intended to replace formal qualifications, training courses or certification schemes which exist around the world. They all have their place, do a great job and play a very important role in improving standards within the industry.
At the same time, there is hardly anything out there for chefs who may not have had the opportunity to pursue formal education or just got too busy building their careers and haven’t found the time to go back to formal education. That’s mainly the gap we want to fill with the WACS scheme (although we expect interest from many chefs with qualifications, of course).
We believe in lifelong learning. We want to celebrate success. We want to encourage chefs around the world to continue raising their game. We want to help employers find chefs with the right skills and passion. And if our scheme helps to achieve that, we will be very happy.
There are nine professional titles which can be achieved through the scheme.
