Dear colleagues in WACS,

First and foremost, allow me to thank you for your support and the trust that I have received from you, without which I might not have been able to become Continental Director of WACS (Central Europe) during the recent congress in Chile. I believe that I shall be a valid member of the WACS team. I am going to perform the Continental Director role in a way that will allow for the Central European countries to be represented successfully. I will use all my experience gained so far to facilitate additional development of the activities organised by WACS.

I sincerely look forward to working with all the Central European chefs organisations. It will be one of my priorities to learn about the activities pursued by the individual member states and to attend as many functions they will be holding as possible. An integral part of my efforts will be to provide support to education and to the enlargement of the Central European region through attracting new member countries, possibly also from the former Soviet Union territory.

I am very well aware of how important it is to present WACS as being a strong organisation that positively influences the educational levels of young people working in our gastronomic operations. There are still many goals that need to be achieved in this respect. I am prepared to help apply the WACS educational programs in those member countries that have not been using these opportunities well enough yet to ensure their thorough implementation.

In order for me to be able to fulfil my new Continental Director role responsibly, I will need to rely on as narrow a co-operation with you as possible. Our mutual communication will therefore be of crucial importance. Should at any time you feel there are topics that would better be discussed with me, please feel free to forward the relevant background to me.

Dear WACS colleagues, I do not wish to be impressing you with excessive promises that would not be fulfilled in the end, I will rather modestly focus on specific projects that WACS will be able to benefit from in the future. I look forward to all the new challenges and especially to working with the President Gissur Gudmundsson and the whole WACS board team. I also promise that I am going to do my best to pick up on Reinhold Metz’s achievements and deserve the trust that you all have put in me.
