Worldchefs provides international rules and regulations for culinary competitions to ensure that culinary competitions are fair to all competitors. Worldchefs Culinary Committee, with representatives from Worldchefs members in every continent, meets regularly to develop universal guidelines and criteria that can be easily understood and practically implemented to achieve a consistent global standard.

It is vitally important that all culinary competitions follow and use these rules to ensure these standards are maintained.The Worldchefs Culinary Rules are updated on a regular basis in order to comply with new trends and technology.

SETTING THE STANDARDS FOR CULINARY COMPETITIONS

Worldchefs offers endorsement of culinary competitions of all levels worldwide.

To gain this prestigious recognition, competition organizers must submit an applications for approval by the Worldchefs Culinary Committee.

The size of the competition is not a factor in receiving Worldchefs endorsement; it is the quality, structure and passion which counts the most.

Worldchefs endorsed competitions help to guarantee that competitors receive proper recognition worldwide, having competed at the highest standards.

OTHER BENEFITS

Organizers have the right to use Worldchefs logo on all communication materials, medals and awards. All assets must be approved by the Worldchefs Office.

Worldchefs will provide a platform for organizers to submit all related information prior to and after the competition.

Worldchefs will promote endorsed competitions to all Worldchefs members via their website event calendar, social, and newsletter.

Organizers can submit announcements and results for inclusion in Worldchefs news, social and newsletter.

Evaluation sheets and scoring sheets can be downloaded from Worldchefs website.

Worldchefs provides an updated list Worldchefs Certified Judges in the following categories: Culinary Arts & Hot Kitchen, Pastry Art, Community Kitchen, Carving, and Vegan/Plant-based.

CULINARY COMPETITION COMMITTEE

The Worldchefs President appoints Culinary Competition Committee members. Their role is to realize and apply international regulations adapting these, where necessary, according to circumstances and conditions.

No alterations, as they relate to the rules, can be made without the written approval of the Culinary Competition Committee and the Worldchefs Board.

The Culinary Competition Committee consists of representatives from the Worldchefs Continental Areas and are all Worldchefs Approved Judges as required. For a full list of the current committee members, visit the Worldchefs website at www.worldchefs.org.

APPLY FOR A WORLDCHEFS ENDORSEMENT

An endorsed competition must be organized by Worldchefs or a National Association member of Worldchefs and can be in conjuction with a company engaged by either of the two parties.

CONDITIONS & BENEFITS

GLOBAL

5.000 €

A Global competition requires a minimum of 16 national culinary teams to compete.

3 Worldchefs Certified International Judges must be invited by the organizer to participate as observer judges (2 for Hot Kitchen/Culinary Art and 1 for Pastry).

INTERNATIONAL

2.500 €

An International competition requires a minimum of 10 national culinary teams to compete.

2 Worldchefs Certified International Judges must be invited by the organizer to participate as an observer judges.

CONTINENTAL

1.000 €

A Continental competition has no minimum requirement for the number of competing national culinary teams. Rules according to Worldchefs rules and standards.

Worldchefs Certified International Judges must be invited by the organizer to participate as an observer judges.

Worldchefs Digital Badging is available for up to 1000 badges included, and an additional cost at 1 euro per extra badge

NATIONAL

500 €

No minimum of the number of National teams. Worldchefs rules and standards.

*The Competition Management System includes an online registration interface, set-up, and shipping of the server and up to 60 computer tablets. Free distanced technical support is available from 9:00 - 17:00 CET. A 50 euros/hour cost applies for support outside this timeframe. Free onsite technical support is also available during competition hours. Travel, accommodation and meal allowance of 100 euros/day to be is the sole responsibility of the event organizer.

ORGANISERS OBLIGATIONS

  • Organiser must comply with competition rules as defined by the Worldchefs Culinary Competition Committee and stipulated in the Official Judge Handbook. More information can be found on www.worldchefs.org.

SELECTION OF THE JURY

  • In Global, International, and Continental competitions, the jury members for National, Senior and Junior teams must be a Worldchefs Certified International Judge. For Regional teams and Individuals, the jury members can be a Worldchefs Certified Continental Judge if he/she has a jury experience in several countries.
  • The chairman of a group of juries must be a Worldchefs Certified International Judge.
  • If possible, the group of juries should indicate at least one member from each participating country.

ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

  • Possibility to issue digital badges to your event participants and competitors. Contact Worldchefs Office for more information.
  • Possibility to use the Woldchefs' Competition Management System for Digital Judging for more secure and time efficient judging.
  • Possibility to invite Worldchefs President at opening and/or closing ceremony.
  • Possibility to organize a furnished Worldchefs booth at the event.
  • Possibility to include event advertisements and/or an article in Worldchefs Magazine.
