Gathering of five associations which are still acting in the field of culinary and food culture, Cooks and Chefs Federation of Turkey has been established in 29 January 2007 and Mr. Yasar Yalcin Manav who is the Chairman of the Kitchen Professionals Association has also been appointed as the Chairman of the Federation. Mr. Manav made a declaration about the establishment of the Federation: "The actions related with food culture and culinary affairs in Turkey have been developing recently. Also, the numbers of the associations who act in this field are increasing day by day. I suggest that everybody who deals with culinary and food culture should cooperate with each other to enable these actions to be continued in modern way. We, as those five associations who realized this requirement, decided to come together and established the Cooks and Chefs Federation of Turkey (COCFED). So, we have officially completed the establishment formalities which started on 16.10.2006. Since 2003, we have been organizing on International Gastronomy Festival (International ?stanbul Gastronomy Festival) to establish a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences as we believe the fact that 'individuals become inspiration'. We will continue to become the leader of the purpose of sharing a mutual learning platform for the next years.

17th International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival

International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival, which is organised by Cooks and Chefs Federation of Turkey (COCFED) for the 17th time, will be held in IBB Kultur Merkezi, Sariyer, Istanbul, TURKEY. A joint organisation with World Association of Chef Societies (WACS) welcomes the world in our country. We expect a huge interest in this event which is organised with leading federations and associations from all around the world, as previous years. The festival which connects Turkish and World Cuisine brings world's different tastes to Istanbul. After gaining 'Continental' title from WACS in 2011 through successful event in the past years, International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival gained 'World Competition' title in 2016. It provides an international competition platform for our country's student and young chefs.

Chefs from different cultures who have opportunity to explore Turkey, are hosted in colourful organizations. International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival which brings important values to our country, acts as a bridge for introducing Turkish Cuisine to the world as well as bringing in new chefs to Turkey and the world.

Turkish and International chefs will compete over more than 70 categories in order to earn medals. Cooks and Chefs Federation of Turkey aims to contribute to gastronomy tourism economy with these big organizations for years. The federation is also completes the lack in the education sector by collaborative projects with universities and new establishments in terms of developing certification programs.

International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival is also a huge platform for presenting and improving awareness for gastronomy brands who are growing in Turkey and international field by providing them special spaces in the festival area.
