For chefs seeking to join the honorable ranks of Worldchefs Certified Judges, attending a specialized Competition Seminar is mandatory part of the process. Participants are awarded a certificate of participation that can be submitted as one of the required credentials in an application to become a Worldchefs Certified Judge. Culinary Arts & Hot Kitchen, Pastry Arts, Carving, and Community Kitchen Competition Seminars are all eligible to submit as part of the application. MEET A COMPETITION SEMINAR INSTRUCTOR

Chef Gert Klotzke is a Certified A Judge, Chairman of the Worldchefs Culinary Competition Committee, and one of the key instructors in the Worldchefs Competition Seminar program.

A well-known competition chef and judge, Gert has won numerous awards on the international culinary scene, including Chef of the Year in Sweden. Gert has spent over a decade mentoring the next generation of competition talent. He was Sweden’s team manager at the Culinary Olympics in 2000 and 2004, where Sweden was Overall Winner, and at the Culinary World Cup 2002 as well as Basel 1998.

Gert continues to advise several teams in Europe. Most recently, he was the appointed Competition Trainer for the National Culinary Team of Finland, which came in 2nd overall at the 2016 Culinary Olympics.

Gert is also the Gastronomic Adviser for the Nobel Foundation and an Honorable Doctor at University of Umea, where he has served as a Professor in Gastronomy.

Worldchefs offers Competition Seminars in 5 focus areas: Introduction to Competition Standards, Culinary Arts & Hot Kitchen, Pastry Arts, Carving, and Community Kitchen.

COST OF THE LICENSE:

The education material is sold under a license of 1400€. This includes the instructor fee, but not travel expenses. The Organiser must cover eventual travel and accommodation expenses for Seminar instructors. The organiser shall charge no more than 300€ per participant for each seminar.

NUMBER OF ATTENDEES:

For the Introduction to Competition Standards Seminar, one license is valid for a maximum of 50 persons per one instructor. For the remaining 4 Seminars, one license is valid of a maximum of 25 persons per one instructor.

STEPS TO HOSTING A COMPETITION SEMINAR

Apply to the online application below.

Once Worldchefs selected the instructor available for your seminar you will receive a confirmation email together with the invoice.

Send payment of 1400€ to the Worldchefs Office.

Once payment is received you will be provided with necessary rules and related documents.

Send an official invitation to the instructor provided by Worldchefs to hold the seminar of your choice.*

Prepare the seminar according to the rules and checklist received from Worldchefs.**

Prepare the list of seminar participants and send it to Worldchefs by email 2 weeks prior to the seminar.

You will receive the certificates for participants 1 week prior to the seminar.

Organize the seminar on your chosen date, following the Organizer checklist.

Send us the feedback from your organized seminar together with pictures and any additional material you wish to share.

*The Organizer is responsible for covering all the costs associated with travel, accommodation, meals etc.

**You will receive a Toolkit that complies with Worldchefs Branding Guidelines to help you organise the seminar.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS CAN ATTEND A SEMINAR AT ONCE?

For the Introduction to Competition Standards Seminar, one license is valid for a maximum of 50 persons per one instructor.

For the remaining 4 Seminars, one license is valid of a maximum of 25 persons per one instructor.

CAN ORGANIZERS DEMAND A SEMINAR FEE FROM PARTICIPANTS?

Worldchefs will announce the seminar on its website www.worldchefs.org and e-newsletter.

Worldchefs will provide individual certificates to participants in a PDF format.

Worldchefs maintains a list of carefully evaluated judges. Worldchefs Certified Judges will make sure that a fair and consistent level is achieved around the world with specific and measured judging criteria along with standardized competition rules and guidelines.

INTERESTED IN BECOMING A WORLDCHEFS CERTIFIED JUDGE?

Attending an applicable Competition Seminar is one part of the process, and does not automatically qualify you as a Worldchefs Certified Judge. Participate in an applicable Worldchefs Competition Seminar: Culinary Arts & Hot Kitchen, Pastry Arts, Community Catering, and Carving are all eligible for inclusion in an Worldchefs Certified Judge application.

To attend a judging seminar you can contact the organizer of the seminar of your choosing. Check the seminar calendar below to see which event suits you the most.

To become a Worldchefs Certified judge you must complete and return the application form together with requested evidence for evaluation by the Culinary Competition Committee (CCC). Email your application and supporting documents to us at office@worldchefs.org. Only complete applications will be considered.

Please note, attending a Competition Seminar is one part of the process, and does not automatically qualify attendees as Worldchefs Certified Judges.

The following Seminar categories are eligible for inclusion in a Certified Judge application: Culinary Arts & Hot Kitchen. Pastry Arts. Community Catering, and Carving. Introduction to Competition Standards is not eligible for inclusion in an application to be a Certified Judge.

Applicants MUST fulfill all criteria laid out in the application form and provide evidence where requested. All the requirements for becoming a Worldchefs Certified Judge can be found in the application form below.

The application fee is 50 € as 1st January 2019. It is nonrefundable. Applicant shall make sure all the required evidence is provided.

Renewal of the judging license is free of charge.
