WORLDCHEFS Judging Seminars are designed for teams and individuals who want to gain insights into the international culinary competition standards. Whether being a competitor, a judge or an aspiring judge, Worldchefs’ one-day intensive seminars will provide useful information about current rules and criteria that occur during competitions as well as common mistakes and pitfalls to avoid.

The Judging Seminars are mandatory for all future WORLDCHEFS Approved Judges. WORLDCHEFS member countries have the possibility to license the Judging Seminars for the benefit of all chefs in their region.

CULINARY ARTS &
HOT KITCHEN

Learn the program for Worldchefs endorsed Hot Kitchen competitions including scoring points (Mise en Place, Correct Professional Preparation, Service, Presentation, Taste)

PASTRY ART

Discover the pastry program for Worldchefs endorsed competitions from petits-fours to plated desserts and centre pieces

CARVING

Find out about fruit and vegetable carving rules for Worldchefs endorsed carving competitions

COMMUNITY KITCHEN

Review the Community Kithen program for Worldchefs endorsed competitions including lunch service and quick service for many guests

WHO IS IT FOR AND HOW TO ATTEND?

EVERYONE can participate in the judging seminar - aspiring judges, competitors, trainers, event organizers etc. - the seminar will give you skill and insights into the international culinary competition standards. All you need to do is keep track of the Worldchefs Judging Seminars calendar, choose a seminar that suits you and register online!

***Attending a Judging Seminar does not automatically qualify one as an Approved Judge. Applicants MUST fulfil all criteria laid out in the document and provide evidence where requested.

WHY ATTEND - JUDGES?

As a judge attending a Worldchefs Judging Seminar, you will discover all the latest rules necessary to provide fair judgement during culinary events.

Being a Worldchefs Judge will give you the opportunity to attend prestigious culinary events worldwide while developing your culinary skills & those of others!

Participants will receive a certificate for taking part in the seminar; this certificate is mandatory to become a Worldchefs Judge.

WHAT WORLDCHEFS OFFERS TO THE CULINARY WORLD?

WORLDCHEFS maintains a list of carefully evaluated judges. WORLDCHEFS Approved Judges will make sure that a fair and consistent level is achieved around the world with specific and measured judging criteria along with standardized competition rules and guidelines.

HOW TO BECOME A JUDGE?


STEP 1

Participate in a Worldchefs Judging Seminar. To attend a judging seminar you can contact the organizer of the seminar of your choosing. Check the seminar calendar here to see which event suits you the most.


STEP 2

To become a Worldchefs approved judge you must complete and return the application form together with requested evidence for evaluation by the Culinary Competition Committee (CCC). Email to us at office@worldchefs.org. Only complete applications will be considered.

All the requirements for becoming a Worldchefs Approved Judge may be found in the application form below.

The application fee is 50 euros from 1st January 2019 . It is non refundable. Applicant shall make sure all the evidences are provided . Renewal of the judging license is free of charge.

CATEGORIES AVAILABLE:

Worldchefs proposes seminars in the following judging categories: Culinary Arts and Hot Kitchen, Pastry Art, Community Kitchen and Carving.

COST OF THE LICENSE:

The education material is sold under a license of 1400€ This includes the instructor fee, but not travel expenses. The Organizer must cover eventual travel and accommodation expenses for seminar instructors. (The organiser shall charge no more than 300 euro per participant for each seminar).

HOSTING A JUDGING SEMINAR - WHAT TO DO?

Apply to the online application below.

Once Worldchefs selected the instructor available for your seminar you will receive a confirmation email together with the invoice.

Send payment of 1400€ to the Worldchefs Office.

STEP

4

Once payment is received you will be provided with necessary rules and related documents.

STEP

Send an official invitation to the instructor provided by Worldchefs to hold the seminar of your choice.*

STEP

6

Prepare the seminar according to the rules and checklist received from Worldchefs.**

STEP

7

Prepare the list of seminar participants and send it to Worldchefs by email 2 weeks prior to the seminar.

8

You will receive the certificates for participants 1 week prior to the seminar.

Organize the seminar on your chosen date, following the Organizer checklist.

Send us the feedback from your organized seminar together with pictures and any additional material you wish to share.

*The Organizer is responsible for covering all the costs associated with travel, accommodation, meals etc.

**You will receive a Marketing Toolkit that complies with Worldchefs Branding Guidelines to help you promote the seminar.

HOW MANY CAN ATTEND THE SEMINAR AT ONCE?

One licence is valid for a maximum of 25 persons per one instructor

CAN ORGANISERS DEMAND A SEMINAR FEE FROM PARTICIPANTS?

The organiser can demand a fee from each participant. This fee must be within reasonable limits and must be communicated to WORLDCHEFS office prior to the seminar.

WHAT IS THE DURATION OF THE SEMINAR?

The seminar runs over one full day (usually from 9-17 h).

WHAT ARE THE OBLIGATIONS OF THE ORGANISER?

  • The Organiser is responsible for arranging a meeting room with a video projector.
  • The Organiser is responsible for registering participants and communicate the names to Worldchefs Office 10 days prior to the event.
  • The organizer is responsible for printing out certificates provided by Worldchefs office in a PDF and hand out to passing participants.

WHAT DOES WORLDCHEFS PROVIDE?

  • WORLDCHEFS provides a list of approved instructors from around the world that organisers can choose from.
  • WORLDCHEFS will announce the seminar on its website www.worldchefs.org and e-newsletter
  • WORLDCHEFS will provide individual certificates to participants in a pdf format.
